Web3Gaming Scam Alert: Party World & Party Royale Scams Try to Mimic Party Icons

Another week, another Twitter DM. This one was asking us if we would like to be an Advisor to their project. There objects have been streamlined a little since my last encounter with them.

Real games have real people following them. Scammers dont.

Summary of Current Tactics Experienced:

Build trust in DMs, answer questions etc…drop a linktree (updated to hub.xyz)
Get you to sign up to a Zoom meeting using Calendy
Show up to the meeting, talk about the gig, pretend to be interested in you. Play off human emotions like greed (offer you decent money), vanity (complementing you on appearance, knowledge, background, etc…) and build your trust with them, mimicing information back to you is another method they use.
Then they want to quickly move you to “lets play the game” (containing malware).
You have to go to their website and download it. Its not on the big named Launchers because of “insert excuse”, so you will have to download it from their website.
Next they want you to run the game, so it loads up their malware and gives them control over your system.
I never get beyond this step because their malware never works on any system I engage with them on. Since I am running Warden, it instantly stops all files trying to change any binaries on my system. Basically, it stops them regardless of size.
They disconnected the Zoom call and blocked me instantly on Twitter once they realized they were not going to get into my computer.

Note: The reason they pick gaming is that file sizes are normally really large, and thus most antivirus software programs won't detect them until It's too late if they detect them at all due to their 100 MB limit. Even if you try scanning them, the files will be too large. This is why they use them, so they can create many excuses for you to bypass your antivirus, or explain why it can’t be used.

Scammers Details…

We know, let’s get to the fun part of seeing what they actually did and how it looks. To be honest, this crew is on their last legs with this scam, based on their attention to detail. Lots of mistakes, they were already reusing a name, didn’t change their old fake name. Links not working, getting 404 errors on OpenSea and many other domains. But the interesting thing is that their Calendy link, as we will show, seemed to have bookings which is scary.

Please let others know about this. We don’t need other gamers getting caught up in these scams!

The Twitter Gang Running this project:

Let us just say this, the founder’s account is suspended, the artist account has 156K followers but only shows football, the co-founder and manager accounts look normal, however the last 2 are a mess. The HR lead is run by a former blackjack player who does not acknowledge this project and the dev have 19K posts, of which you can’t see any, and they claim to be a hacker again with nothing linking them to the fake game.

They got their OpenSea account back up and running. Their token was launched a year ago, under the name PoolParty. Which, I am guessing, was a previous scam.

Wearing a Wig, saying he is in Dubai, mentions a wife?

Possible other calls with potential victims.

Summary:

Their version of interactive operations, while they are live on a video call with a victim, is the ultimate. Since very few people will talk about being swindled or scammed when talking face to face with someone. They count on shame keeping the victim quite afterward as well.
