Just recieved a nice offer from a “Crypto.com” recruiter through LinkedIn DMs. Remember that they are just a “recruiter” and don’t know anything, accept that you need to connect via a custom link to fill in a few questions and give an intro video. This sounds close to normal onboarding to a position. Except its not.

Scammers Fake Job Offer for DeFi Analyst

So lets look at the offer and what I was able to quickly find out to make sure I understood what was happening.

Here is the scammers profile.

Notice anything interesting here?

How do I know they were a Scammer?

When asked questions to pass along this was the response. Also, when does a CEO or CTO have time in an organization with over 5,700 people?

The link they sent me was registered the same day I was talking with them.

But I also checked their link, I found out that it automatically redirected to Willio.video, who confirmed the url was not a part of their infrastructure.

They now have a page capturing users looking into this domain, telling them it looks suspicious.

Conclusion

Remember to stay vigilant against new video or onboarding software. We recommend looking up their domains registration timeline as one of the best and fastest ways to determine the legit nature of the url being sent to you. Even if no malware is downloaded on that visit, doesn’t mean it wont be later on. Best approach is to not engage with their links.
